ALCHEMICAL ABYSS HOME PRIVACY TERMS

Privacy Policy

Effective 9 October 2026

This policy explains what data the Alchemical Abyss livestream and this website handle and why. Alchemical Abyss is operated by Lygon Software (business ID 2258204-8), Friitalantie 11 B, 28400 Ulvila, Finland, which is the controller of the personal data described here. Contact: toni@lygon.net.

YouTube API Services

Alchemical Abyss uses YouTube API Services to run its interactive livestream on YouTube. By watching or taking part in the stream on YouTube you are also bound by the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google handles your data under the Google Privacy Policy.

Our software is authorized only for the Alchemical Abyss YouTube channel, by its owner. Viewers never sign in to our software and we never access viewers' YouTube accounts.

What We Access

  • Live chat of our own broadcasts: for each message, its ID, its text, the author's YouTube channel ID and display name, and whether the author is a moderator or the channel owner. For Super Chats, Super Stickers and memberships, also the tier and any comment. We also receive notices when our moderators ban someone from the chat.
  • Our own channel's broadcasts and videos: broadcast status, stream health, titles, descriptions, tags and public statistics such as concurrent viewers and view counts.
  • YouTube Analytics for our own videos: aggregate figures only, such as views, minutes watched and average view duration. These contain no data about individual viewers.

How We Use It

  • Running the game: counting votes, adding people who type !join to the queue, and carving their display name into the world.
  • Showing names on the stream: display names appear on screen in the names panel and in short on-screen thank-yous and announcements. The stream is public, so anyone watching can see them.
  • Moderation: applying chat bans and moderator commands, including removing a name from the world.
  • Improving the stream: each episode we record aggregate numbers such as live viewers, chat messages, distinct chatters and joins, and compare broadcast titles.

Our legal basis is our legitimate interest in running an interactive livestream that viewers choose to take part in.

What We Store and for How Long

  • Names in play: the display name and channel ID of each name standing in the world or waiting in the queue are kept on our server while that name is in play, so a restart does not lose it.
  • Chat messages: chat messages are not stored. The server's operational logs record joins, vote totals, moderation actions and Super Chat thank-yous, including the display names involved. Logs are deleted after at most 30 days.
  • Per-episode statistics: these are kept as counts only. To count distinct chatters during an episode we keep one-way hashes of channel IDs, and we delete them when the episode ends.
  • Data from YouTube API Services: we keep it no longer than YouTube's policies allow, and refresh or delete it within 30 days.

Sharing

We do not sell or share personal data with anyone. Apart from what is visible on the public stream, it stays on our server, which runs in Finland.

This Website

This website sets no cookies, uses no analytics or trackers, and loads nothing from other sites. Our hosting provider, Cloudflare, processes visitors' IP addresses to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse.

Your Choices and Rights

  • Removing your name: ask a moderator in chat, or email us, and we will take your name off the stream.
  • Your data rights: you can ask for access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data, and object to its use, by emailing toni@lygon.net.
  • Complaints: you may lodge a complaint with the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi).
  • Google account access: if you ever authorized any application to use your Google account, you can review and revoke that access in Google's security settings. Our software does not ask viewers for this kind of access.

Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the effective date.
